About Me

There are so many incredible things in the world to look and marvel at. I enjoy sharing the things that inspire me. I'm an artist in just about any medium and I am currently working towards receiving my Masters
of Fine Arts in Ceramics.

Artist Statement

The balance of space and form is very important in my ceramic sculptures. Diatoms, gorgeous microscopic organisms, have many different forms, each with their own unique variations and flaws. I am taken with expressing these different forms in patterns, both the actual forms and the designs on each piece. My purpose is to share my love of detail, so the viewer can appreciate the sometimes delicate, sometimes bold features of the organisms I draw my inspiration from. I enjoy creating each individual part, and adding details to each piece one by one. It ensures that each piece is entirely unique. With my work, I present the viewer with individual pieces that are both interesting to look at and create a cohesive whole. I hope to share my interest in looking at these beautiful microscopic forms through my work, which will enhance their beautiful patterns and shapes.
